I hate Diet Pepsi but I do drink Diet Coke. I wonder what the story is with that. Or Coke Zero. Sigh. Whyyyy can’t they just be clear about these things.
Another drink that you can't be certain is vegan is wine… It can contain gelatin, egg, milk protein, or fish glue. But there are vegan wines out there!
my guess would have to be that the fake sugar is either from a plant that also works with non vegan ingredients or something in the fake sugar is derived from animal product.
Soda water with fruit juice of any kind will always be way better than soda. There’s just so much sugar, and not enough caffeine to make it worth the tooth decay lmfao. It’s just, so syrupy for no reason.
Are you talking about the US or elsewhere? Because I emailed PepsiCo just last year asking if US Diet Pepsi was vegan and they responded that while neither the USDA nor the FDA have actual guidelines about what constitutes vegan, none of the ingredients in the US version of Diet Pepsi are animal based.
I dont know the ingredient(s). BUT the sodapop can be vegan and a part of the packaging can contain porc. I know one case of wine : inside the lid can have a flat round thing inside that is made from porc jelly. Fact the wine is vegan but not the lid (cork or screwable top lid)
Not meat, probably not milk, must be eggs then. Maybe a bit of eggwhite to simulate the syrupy mouthfeel of sugar. Totally unnecessary and kinda fraudulent but that's the same as all beverages including alcohol. They don't have the same requirement to disclose ingredients as they would if it was food. Crazy huh.
Vegetarian but not vegan… I’m going to guess it’s trace amounts of honey. If it was trace amounts of milk or eggs they’d have to put an allergy statement on it. “May contain traces of…”
I don't drink a lot of soda anymore, but when I have had the occasional craving, Diet Pepsi has been my go-to. Oh, well. Thank you so much for the information!
It has HEK293. Look it up
Yes, and lot of orange juices are not technically vegan either… because lot of orchards use pesticides that kill the bugs.
interesting o.O

oh god i wanna go vegan but that’s literally the only soda i drink😭😭
My roommate works for that company and says they use lard to lubricant the machinery…. Cross contamination maybe🤷
Who drinks diet Pepsi when Pepsi Max is RIGHT there

Maybe honey?
I think it’s the type of sweetener used in it. Some sweeteners contain milk.

Maybe they use honey for sweetener since it's diet** (😂)

Lactic acid?

Also suitable for people wanting cancer

Idk whats more horrible hearing talk about vegan food Or watching nik avocado eat tons of food
either ORIGINAL or just water
I don't know much about pop but could the secret ingredient be honey? Thats not vegan but it is vegetarian.
Would they have to allergens if they have been so processed they become a different ingredient?

Good thing I don't do diet
Some sweeteners contain dairy…..probably that
Probably honey or other bee derived ingredient.
If it were eggs or dairy, they'd have to list it. Maybe it's bugs.

What about Diet Coke??
If it's traces it could be made in a factory that also deals with non vegan ingredients. Possibly something bee related?
It has something related to milk 🥛an acid that is derived from milk
Maybe they use trace amounts of honey or lactose?
Maybe some ingredient renders it a bit murky, so they clarify it with eggs?
I bet is bee pollen. It's often used as a flavoring or so I read somewhere.
In Austria gelatine is categorised as vegetarian. Dont know why, makes no sense to me. Im guessing because its not meat?…
I’m guessing honey
Egg albumin maybe?
Could be castorium.
