Jackfruit and banana blossom are really great if you want texture found in pulled pork or tuna, which (imo) isnt acheivable legumes like tofu or pea proteins. What she's done will make it taste like meat and very delicious, but if you skip the boiling or baking parts it will still taste great, just not perfect. It doesnt have protein content, so its just a fun way to have something tasty and high in fiber. Im vegetarian, and use these in quesadillas with cheese, but vegans could use any cheese substitute for added protein, or just have more protein throughout the week in another meal. 😀
Are used to cook vegan TVP things and had to follow a similar process for it to taste good, it was quite fun, satiated both the omnivores and the vegan vegetarians, so really happy for this video. Well done marvellous🎉❤
Why ruin perfectly good jackfruit this way, spend so much unnecessary time to substitute meat with something that for sure won't taste like it? While India is the hub for vegetarianism, Sri Lanka is the hub for veganism. Just research srilankan jackfruit curry recipes (also known as polos, which is baby jackfruit & kos known as jackfruit recipes). Coconut milk base and tastes bloody amazing. You won't be eating meat ever again, nor will you be looking into eating substitutes.
I’m filipina, and I shop at a large international grocery market which carries frozen young jackfruit. Ingredients: 100% young jackfruit. Defrost, remove hard core if desired, and use in your favorite dish. BBQ “pulled pork” sammie’s are so good!
That doesn't even compare with real jackfruit. Where did the Golden color go?
That is NOT jackfruit tf😭
Alright… I will be trying this!
I would know
She said "s###" instead bad
I only eat raw jackfruit and not in a can
You've got some of the best videos
I make a killer jackfruit chili and never went through all of that. Just a simple soak and rinse.

The gray color 🤢
Being a vegan seems like alot of effort. Looks good and interesting though.
Uggh or u can just use chicken
Baking soda and water will get the brine taste out
Or you could just get some meat and it’s guaranteed to taste good. 😅

Jackfruit still tastes like shit even after all that
Thank you! Now I can try Jackfruit again, after my awful first attempt.

I cant stand jackfruit because its too fleshy looking and i feel like im eating real meat.
That's a lot of prep work. I'd starve if I was vegan and had to cook for myself

Wow this Halloween decoration can cook!
Hmmm i dunno i get free jackfruit around every amazon order so i just boil the smazon cardboard. Tastes exactly the same. Without the seeds..
That is about 2 hours of prep time, it s just not worth it.
All those horrible tattoos!! What a shame that such an attractive woman would want to mutilate herself like that. Sad.
even the worst Indian ways to make jackfruit is better than whatever this lady made
I love jackfruit! I have never rinsed it but i think it tastes just fine. Love to have it as a hamburger!
Awesome info, well edited, and great fashion sense. Subbed
That’s a lot of work yo 😂
I'm not vegan, but that actually looks really good. I may make it sometime.
Too much work.Too much time, effort and money And not for a gourmet dish
I'll stick to delicious and nutrient dense meat.
nice some canned garbage with tab water
The negative angle is really old girl
Just say: "heres how to make X taste better"
So you need an entire day ,no thanks!
You can get fresh jackfruit at the ethnic markets.
I don’t cook it at all.
Eat it straight from the can! 😋😋
I love the Trader Joes canned jackfruit. I only rinse it once and pop it in the pan. No weird taste. 🙂
I love the brine taste with bbq sauce. I rinse and squeeze and that’s it.
Jesus…all the people whining about time consuming missed "YOU DO THIS IN BATCHES AND FREEZE IT"..
Lmao what the fuck are you eating?
That seems like an awful lot to do for jack fruit. Now I understand why mine was terrible when I made it.
This is way too much work, is buying fresh jack fruit this difficult too?
