Makes rice crispy WITHOUT massive amounts of icky oil. Also gets browned ( or blackened) bits for extra flavour.
As an Asian who has rice multiple times a day in different forms, last thing I want is to have rice for breakfast as well

There's a Cambodian (?) recipe that uses this same technique to create snacks. Gordon Ramsey showcased it on one of his travel shows and it was really simple, but satisfyingly tasty.

No. Absolutely not.
But rice crispies are not made from whole rice, lol, it's made from rice flour then formed into rice looking shapes, and they aren't fried in oil but air puffed, come on, we need companies to show how things work in factories again like they used to show like on shows like Reading Rainbow or Mister Rogers.
