  1. Its called an apple crumble. Originates from England, normally served with custard, and hugely envied by the French. Btw your recipe is very good.

  2. I remember when I was a kid (in New England) we made apple pies (occasionally the crisps) with Cortland apples, which have that perfect balance of sweet and tart, keep their crispness during baking, and taste better than any other apple combination! However, I don’t see them outside of NE. Yes, gotta have vanilla ice cream! But you’re just showing off in this one! πŸ˜‹πŸ™β€οΈ

  3. This is an amazing apple crisp recipe! I will try, minus the homemade ice cream. Thank you Chef Billy for sharing. It really looks delicious! Sometimes a muesli mix is also nice in place of plain oats or mix them together.

  4. I put lemon juice lemon rind. Cinnamon brown sugar. in my apple base. Love the recipe videos. You really inspire Thank you from Canada πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

  5. Yummy! I’d eat either one, pie or crisp! I tried a recipe that works great in a pinch. The only thing different is using a Betty Crocker oatmeal cookie mix with a stick of butter. Cut in butter and mix. Place this over your apples. πŸ™‚πŸ˜Š

  7. Billy Billy. No hat. A dead giveaway that a guy is bald is that he always has a hat on. I lost that bet. You have hair!!!
This is one of those great desserts that my wife makes. The other day we took it to the next level by making a Creme Anglaise. Oh My Gosh. I will never eat apple crisp again with ice cream

  8. Gaaaah, Im making this and forgot to add the pecans to the topping -_- Either way, I'll add them on top after baking, no problem.

Edit: I used this recipe as a base and made a few changes. Halved the recipe for a small pan. Added a splash of lemon juice to the apples, along with a splash of vanilla, and a splash of bourbon. Swapped the flour in the apples for cornstarch. The end result was sooooooooo delicious!
