Thats not shepherd's pie dude. You made it with beef so its a cottage pie. Shepherd's pie is made with lamb or mutton it gives you a clue in the name but it does look like a nice cottage pie

For crying out loud , cottage pie , shepherds looked after sheep.
As others will tell you this is a Cottage Pie when made with beef, and a Shepherd’s Pie when made with lamb.
Also you don’t have to say ‘Pot Roast’ as they’re all baked in the oven like this.

It’s a “Cottage Pie” if it’s made with any other meat than lamb. Shepherds only herd sheep, hence the reason a Shepherd’s Pie is made with lamb. If beef is used it is actually a Cottage Pie.
