  1. One key factor in most of the recipes seems to be baking salted carrots to remove some of the moisture. I'm thinking that rubbing the carrots with salt, wrapping them in kitchen roll, and then zapping them in the microwave might achieve a similar effect. The risk is going to be over cooking.
I would love to see a veganised taramasalata. Since giving up animal flesh it's one of the few things I've missed.

  2. I've been craving fish so badly lately, I used to eat a lot of fish as a kid and my few happy memories happened around eating fish, so I can't wait to try this out. Thank you so much <3

  3. This is an amazing recipe. I tried it at home and I only made one mistake. I was surprised when I found tummy fur in my salmon. Heads up, hide your belly buttons when cooking for delicious salmon.

  4. this is amazing!! i never had actual lox before so i dont have much to compare it to but it tasted pretty fishy to me, not overpowering though which i liked. i added a few drops of hickory liquid smoke since i didn’t have a smoker

  5. Just eat some salmon for fuck sake. What is this bullshit. You're replacing one of the most nutritious and delicious foods on the planet with a fucking carrot!

    Wake up!

  6. Can that smoking gun be used for multiple uses? Not just smoking carrots as such etc etc. Because people here are alluding that’s you can….? Can’t believe Breville would even make it available to do such things haha

  7. Why not just eat real salmon if you crave it that much?? I really do not get why you vegans keep trying to make fake meat, when you claim you are so disgusted by it. The fact that you crave it this much that you go through so much trouble making vegetables look like meat, just shows how much your body actually needs the nutritions found in these foods and that your vegan diet is severly lacking in what your body actually needs..

  8. Or you could just bake salmon for 15 minutes in the oven. This has no nutrition, it's basically pure fiber and some carbohydrates. Not even comparable to the protein, fat, EPA/DHA, and vitamins and minerals in salmon. This is a lot of work for no nutritional value. Why imitate animal foods if the point of veganism is to be herbivorous? Why do you like the taste of salmon if you're vegan? Theoretically it should repulse you.
