those are colombian arepas. Venezuelan ones (the originals) are different. The fillings are added after cooking them.
Ayo, you made the arepa like a dumpling. Normally, they are made without mixing it with the cheese. Then, they are cut open and stuffed with cheese after. At least this is how they were made in the movie
Maybe it's made a little differently in each country but the ones I remember had some sugar and corn pieces in it. With TONS of queso 🤤🤤🤤
