Do you start with cold or room temp eggs?
I have tried this with different eggs 3 different times now, trying to get a medium boiled egg. Each time I have tried this it hasn't worked. I'm using pastured farm eggs. I tried with large eggs, medium sized eggs, and small eggs. The white is still stuck to the shell, the rest of the white is runny and the yolk is runny. Disappointing.
Best video on this topic. I always forget then come looking for u but today had trouble finding you !!
The chef toke is why I didn't become a chef. Looks to gay.
Should the egg at room temp or cold eggs from the refrigerator before boiling, your reply will be greatly appreciated . Thnks!
I’ve been following the advice and 40 year old recommended of the Georgia Egg Board. Start cold, go to boil, off heat, sit for 16 min. Thought I’ve used over 1,000 times, IT NEVER WORKED! Your method works. Thank you 1,000 times.
I’m so happy I’m crying.
OMG FINALLY!! Thank you. My potato salad and deviled eggs are gonna be happy and more pretty
How do you stop the egg from exploding?
Love your energy and how you communicate thank you brother 😊
I have watched so many videos showing boiling eggs but why NONE mentioned about the eggs used were at room temp. or straight out of the fridge, which I believe is so crucial to succeed or fail 😢
Shut up and show what we wanna see
No one cares about a hat get to video
1:23 organic or natural?🤔😆
Hello chef. I knew about shocking the egg in an ice bath but, i always started in cold water, brought them to boil and turned the heat off for 12 minutes covered. Such a pain to peel. I used this method and it worked fantastic. Then i used your timing and steamed the eggs instead of boiling. Works even better!
Who cares about a chef toque? Has nothing to do with boiled eggs.
Why can't one boil more than 6 at a time?
I want to hard boil at least a dozen eggs at a time.
Wow!!!
ThankYou for the information on how to boil an egg correctly!
I hard boiled two dozen eggs this Easter morning according to your instructions and they all came out perfect. Thank you so much. Happy Easter if you celebrate this great holiday!
Does the amount of eggs being prepared impact the cook time? For example, would I go 8 minutes for a medium egg whether I’m cooking 3 eggs or 20, or do I need to increase the boil time at all for more eggs?
Great video. My medium eggs turned out perfectly
I like this technique better than what Martha Stewart teaches. I think Martha may have shared a blunt with the snoop before boiling her eggs? Just saying?????
thank you chef!!! you are a lifesaver🥰
When I lived in Canada, I could hard boil eggs perfectly every time. Then I moved to the US and have never been able to boil a perfect egg since. Forget about making devilled eggs because they peeled so raggedy I had to make egg salad. I just now tried your 6 min boil, 6 min sit then ice and they peeled perfectly! Thank you for this tip!
Every video shows ice bath but never discusses alternative plans when no ice exists in the house. Please provide.
Some have asked if you place the eggs in boiling water straight from the from fridge and you answered that you did. However, upon doing so a good many of the eggs then crack open releasing a good amount of the egg white!
Jammy eggs?
So many guides say between 5 and 6 and a half minutes to soft boil eggs, but in all of these guides I see the chef preparing multiple eggs at the same time. What if I want to soft boil just one egg? How long would be necessary?
Cool I like hard boiled eggs
great video
ty, just tried it and it was spot on
followed this a-hole to the letter, and guess what? It doesn't F'in work. Thanks dusher.
Great video with nice techniques. But if you cool down the eggs for 3 minutes in iced water, they'll be cold! Who wants a cold egg with their toast for breakfast?!!
omg found the easy way to make my soft boiled eggs now thank you so much
So actually 5 mutes 3 minute eggs
Is it actually 3 minutes?
This is life-changing! I have been avoiding a dish that I enjoy because it was so hard to peel an egg flawlessly. I stumbled across this video and I was able to peel 11 eggs without issues.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you!
I make great hard boiled eggs. I have always put them in cold water & brought it to boil; then turned off boiling water & let eggs sit in hot water for 18 minutes before cooling down, but peeling them was a mess. Now, I am definitely going to try your way! Thanks!
you talk too much. show the video immediately.
Just as an FYI: I love your videos. I have avoided boiling eggs because they are such a train wreck. I made some at lunch and WOWZERS. I won’t fix them any other way. You’re the best.
How do you keep them from cracking as you put them in the boiling water?
You can improve on the peeling the shell by carefully cracking the shell tapping it with a spoon being careful not to break the membrane. Then they peel much easier than what you do,.
Those eggs will get cold, which defeats the purpose of having a soft/medium boiled egg.
Get to the fucking point
Do you start with room temperature eggs, I might’ve missed it?
