Would like to try but you did not give quantity for the seasonings. I am sure that it taste delicious. You should give us the recipe. Thank you.
The name if the video should be flourless crepes. Nothing to do with eggs.
Would whipped aquafaba help with the fluffyness of the chickpea omelette?
to anyone interested once i made a omelette with whole chickpeas in and i mixed it with a pinh of banana for the taste, some soy milk , herbs , spices, sprouts , some nuts in . this was the batter it came out thick , filling ,and with a similar texture …..we can try on many different versions today i will make the tofu one !!!!and thank you for the gorgeous video !!!
Why not go with the chickpea flavor, forget trying to make an 'egg replacement', and make a "Hummus Pancake"?
I think I’m gonna go with firm tofu
I love chickpea ”omelette” but wouldnt call it omelette. I dont use kala namak bc i dont like the egg taste at all. I use salt and italian herbs in mine. I cant taste the flour at all.
Over mixed the Besan should have wisked it. Over mixing kinda ruins it…. I have done both and had better success using a wisk with Besan….
Maybe if u added more almond milk to the chickpea one,it would be less dense. Both hav potensial tho.
The chickpea batter needs to be runnier than that to make it thinner and cook evenly. It even tastes good, if paired with salsa!
I can’t wait to try the tofu omelette 😋
Have you tried toasting the chickpea flour first slowly in a non stick pan on the stove? Also to 1 cup of chickpea flour add 1/2 c all purpose flour, 1/2 tsp of baking powder and 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt and a small pinch of kala namak, and turmeric. Add water to make thin batter. Brush non stick pan with oil or veg margarine. Mix sauted veggies into batter. Cook 45 minutes to 1 minute each side. The baking soda and baking powder make It fluffy. The toasting of the chickpea flour gets rid of the raw taste.
You don't know what you're missing if you haven't tried sourdough rye starter omelettes…. rye has a naturally cheesy flavor. So GOOD! (No baking soda or oil needed in a nonstick pan).
Is there another substitute for the rice flour if I don't eat rice?
Didn't work for me. I admit I didn't use rice flour but chickpea flour. The mixture didn't stick together at all.
The Chickpea one is too dry but the tofu one is more Moist and great tasting
You were against the chickpea one from the get go.
Less watery batter for the chickpea ones would have been better.
edgy veg . haha ok karen
i dont think you did the chickpea one justice
I make chickpea egg all the time and it's never looked this bad !!! You cooked it terribly and then dissed it LOL !!
Being vegan has shown me that you can make anything with tofu😂
I will try the tofu one but will add a small amount of baking powder to make it fluffier 🙂
Did anyone else try sniff the food? 😂
The black salt smells more like rotten eggs. But it has a nice taste.
I need to try the chickpea flour omelette. But the tofu one looks better. Have you done a mung bean omelette? That’s my favourite.
That seems like a MASSIVE amount of work just to pretend to be eating an "egg-like" omelet. I think it'd be a lot easier to just make a veggie scramble and eat that with multi-grain brown rice bread. At least, that's what my wife and I eat in the mornings. I've been easing myself into a vegan diet. My wife is lagging behind, but that's her choice. Some people like eating meat or think that they need to eat meat. Either way, I'm working on it on my own for my own health and if it improves the lives of animals because I chose not to eat them or anything that they are used for making or producing bi-products that affects their lives in a detrimental way, then that makes me happy. Do I like the taste of meat? Yes, I do. Do I eat meat anymore? No, I don't. Am I glad that I don't eat meat anymore? For my health and for the health of the planet and the health of animals, yes, I am. Thumbs up! I am a new subscriber. Now, let's see if I can find any recipes on this channel that are easy and fast to make, taste good, are actually healthy and nutritious, and whose ingredients are easy to come by. 🙂
Great video, but why call it an omelette? It's a pancake 😅
Omg I love the way you said ‘Kala Namak’ 👏🏼👌🏼🙏🏼❤️🌹Perfect pronunciation! Definitely a south Asian ancestor in your heritage 🤗👍🏼
Do you need to strain the tofu
Love
these recipe comparison videos are really very useful!
thanks!
You can do a Vietnamese crapes as an Imitation of a vegan omelette
So someone please reminds me why shouldn't we eat 'real' eggs?
Cool! could you use plain flour?
I love you
I tried making the tofu omlette today and it wouldn't stay together at all. The only ingredient I changed was the brown rice flour to all purpose because I didn't have brown rice flour. When I went to flip it it was completely soft and fell apart. I'm not sure what I did wrong 🙁
how does the nutrition compare?
I'm sorry but neither look like an "omelet"
Tofu omelette is close enough for an taste and looks a like.
Silky blonde long hair with bangs, colourful green eyeshadow, 70’s Boho macrame top = lead Abba singer Agneta Fältskog. You should totally, totally get into more 70’s boho style, maybe more like Stevie Nicks from Fleetwood Mac (same era), I think that it suits you So well.
On a more related note; I Will try this recipe, and try to make my not-vegan mother taste it.
Good evening/Good morning/Good afternoon!

Lol@ 'that's that's just sadness' when referring to the chickpea flour omelette. Yes! Tofu is a very good egg replacer in most vegan recipes from what I've found so I am not surprised you had a better experience with the tofu. That tofu omelette looked really good. Please do more 'vs.' videos as it's good to find alternative ways to prepare and cook vegan items.
Your chickpea batter to thick!
I love this video! Yes please do more 2 method face-off style videos 😀 I have never tried to make a vegan omelette before but I like the tofu recipe idea better!
